Volunteer opportunities
Event assistance
Volunteers are often needed for alumni events on and off campus. Opportunities include duties like set up, check-in table, event management, and breakdown.
Event assistance is also needed for many campus events like Fiesta on the Mesa, the annual Hozhoni Days Powow, and the annual Arts April celebration.
Mentoring
Mentoring FLC students provides alumni with an opportunity to give back to their alma mater and positively impact young people's lives. As mentors, alumni can share their wisdom, experiences, and connections with students starting their careers and help them make informed decisions about their future.
Additionally, mentoring allows alumni to stay connected with FLC and contribute to its success long after graduation. Some examples of mentorship opportunities:
- Springboard Fellowship Program
- Writing Across Curriculum
Award Committee
Each year, the Alumni Awards Program honors graduates and faculty/staff who have impacted Fort Lewis College and society through outstanding professional, philanthropic, or volunteer accomplishments.
Award committee members assist the Director of Alumni Engagement in reviewing, scoring, and selecting winners. Volunteers will have one month to review nominations and can expect to commit a handful of hours to this task.
