Rachel Frederico '08
Director of Alumni Engagement

Rachel Frederico, a member of the Cherokee Nation, moved from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Durango in 2004. She earned a B.A. in Communications and Marketing from Fort Lewis College in 2008. She enjoys everything the Southwest has to offer. You can often find her hiking, rafting, gardening, reading, enjoying live music, and camping with her family in their restored VW van.

After nearly two decades of exploring the region, Rachel has firm roots in the Durango community. She brings years of experience in outreach, event planning, public relations, and multimedia marketing to the Alumni Engagement Office. Rachel is passionate about her alma mater and keeping others connected to it. As the Director, she is driven to support the mission of the College and our fellow Skyhawks!

Sarah Brophy '21
Alumni Engagement Officer

Sarah graduated from Fort Lewis in 2021 with a degree in Biology. While a student at Fort Lewis, she published research on the impacts of the 416 Fire and participated in farming and ranching education at The Old Fort. She is an involved community member and an avid outdoor enthusiast. In her free time, Sarah loves to trail run and backcountry ski in the San Juan Mountains. She loves the ecology and the people of the Southwest, and is excited to return to her alma mater and join the Alumni Engagement Team!

Arden Blakemore
Student Ambassador

Arden is a freshman transferring from Mesa, AZ.  She was raised in Chama, NM, and later moved to Pagosa Springs, CO to attend middle school and high school. She has been surrounded by the beauty of the Southwest all her life and loves the outdoors and traveling! When she is not at school, Arden can be found rock climbing, reading, or knitting.

Kaar Jorgenson
Student Ambassador

Kaar is currently a sophomore at Fort Lewis, majoring in Graphic Design. Kaar was raised in Edmond, Oklahoma and is a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. Aside from creating and art, Kaar loves the beach, playing lacrosse, acting, skiing, photography, and spending time with friends and loved ones.

Haleigh Trujillo
Student Ambassador

Haleigh is a junior majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Accounting. She is currently the Vice President and member of the Latter-Day Saints Student Association. Originally from Farmington, New Mexico, she is a member of the Navajo Nation.
