The Alumni Engagement team and Advancement Office invite nominations for the Alumni Summit Awards. These awards honor Fort Lewis College graduates who excel in their fields and make a meaningful impact on FLC and their local, regional, and national communities through outstanding professional, philanthropic, and volunteer service.

Award categories

Distinguished Alumni Award

As the highest recognition bestowed upon alumni, the Distinguished Alumni Award honors Fort Lewis College graduates whose extraordinary professional success and influence set them apart at the highest levels of their fields. These honorees exemplify leadership, innovation, and lasting impact.

FLC Spirit Award

Recognizes alumni who lead through exceptional leadership and impact through service & volunteer efforts, change-making, civic engagement, or community-building efforts while living the mission and values of FLC. 

Skyhawk Summit Awards

Each school (Business, Arts & Sciences, and Education) selects one honoree each year based on professional success and engagement with FLC and their community. Skyhawk Summit honorees are eligible for the Distinguished Alumni Award in future years.

Alumni Mentorship & Impact Award

Recognizes FLC faculty and staff alumni who have made a meaningful and lasting impact on students through mentorship, teaching, advising, or leadership.

 

Emerging Leader Award

Recognizes an alumni within 10 years of graduation (2015-2025) who has shown excellence in and exceptional commitment to the greater FLC community through leadership, volunteerism, or innovation. 

Alumni Entrepreneur & Business Leadership Award

Recognize an alum who has built, led, or grown businesses, especially those contributing to local, regional, or national economies.  

Eligibility 

All are welcome to submit nominations. Nominee must have: 

  • Distinguished themselves in their professional field 
  • Made significant contributions to their community at the local, state, national, or international level  
  • Demonstrated personal integrity and earned the respect of their peers 

Definitions 

Alumni: Anyone who has earned a degree from Fort Lewis College 

Faculty/Staff: Any current or former employee of the College 

Nomination process & timeline 

  • Submit a nomination by 5 pm Monday, July 27, 2026, using the form below
  • The Alumni Awards Committee, composed of FLC faculty and staff, will review and score all nominations
  • Awardees will be notified by Friday, July 31, and invited to campus to celebrate their achievements during Homecoming activities at the Alumni Summit Awards dinner on Saturday, October 24

What awardees receive 

  • A reserved table for eight (the awardee plus 7 guests). Each attendee receives dinner and two drink tickets
  • On-stage recognition and a plaque, plus inclusion in the Alumni Summit Awards video showcase 
  • A feature on the Alumni Engagement Program website celebrating awardees over the years 

For nominators 

Thank you for helping recognize our graduates' achievements. If your nominee is selected, you will receive a complimentary ticket to the awards dinner and will be featured in the Alumni Summit Awards video showcase.
